This Quiz: Thomas

1.) Why was Thomas thinking that Jesus and the disciples would all die if they went to Bethany again?
Because the Jews there had tried to kill them previously.
Because the Romans had tried to kill them there.
Because a prophet had told them that they would die if they went there.
Because the townspeople had told them that they would kill them if they ever returned.

2.) To whom did Thomas express his concern that they would die if they went to Bethany?
           To his mother.
           To the Lord.
           To his fellow disciples.
           To the priest.

3.) Jesus said "...I go to prepare a place for you ... you know where I am going and you know the way." And Thomas said to Him...
           I doubt it, Lord.
Yes, Lord, you are going to Jerusalem.
I don't know about the others, Lord, but I don't know where you are going.
Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?

4.) Why did Thomas not believe the disciples account of having seen the risen Lord?
He was a friend of Judas Iscariot and they believed that Jesus would not rise from the dead.
He was not present when Jesus appeared.
He wanted to go back fishing and did not care to know.
He still was not convinced that Jesus was the Son of God.

5.) A week later, Jesus stood in the group and spoke peace to them. What was unusual about His entry into the room?
Four of the disciples lifted some tiles off the roof and lowered Him down through the gap.
He came in through a window.
The doors were shut when He arrived.
He brought the high priest and some centurions with Him.

6.) When Jesus had offered to let Thomas reach out his hand and thrust it into His side, what admonition did He offer to Thomas?
Depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
According to your faith, Thomas, be it unto you.
           Be not faithless, but believing.
I have never seen such a lack of faith in all of Israel.

7.) And Thomas answered and said unto him...
Who is like unto thee, Oh Lord?
           My Lord and my God.
Great is thy faithfulness, Oh Lord my savior.
The Lord is slow to anger and plenteous in mercy.

8.) How did Jesus describe to Thomas those who have not seen, but yet have believed?

9.) On what sea did the Lord appear to Thomas and six of the other disciples when they had fished all night and caught nothing?
           The sea of Galilee.
           The sea of Tiberias.
           The Dead Sea.
           The Mediterranean.

10.) Where was Thomas on the day of Pentecost?
           In the upper room.
Fishing on the sea of Galilee.
           Teaching in the temple.
He had died prior to the day of Pentecost.
